The reimagined Delta Flight Museum in Atlanta celebrates Delta Air Lines’ legacy and future through immersive storytelling, interactive exhibits, and state-of-the-art technology. Imagine led the redevelopment of the overall project, providing master planning, concept and design development, executive media production, art direction, and project management.
The nearly $20 million transformation revitalizes two historic hangars with enhanced galleries, digital media, and hands-on experiences designed to engage aviation enthusiasts, families, and history lovers alike. The project marks a major milestone for Imagine’s design studio, as it provides planning, design and production for cultural destinations, brand experiences and attractions around the world.
The guest journey begins in a redesigned lobby inspired by Delta’s lounges and leads into two distinct hangars:
In the Legacy Hangar, highlights include a cinematic 270° preshow, rare aircraft, and an interactive aviation play area. Exhibits like Delta History Gallery and You Are Here bring Delta’s story to life with archival artifacts, AI displays, and immersive environments.
The Spirit Hangar propels guests into the jet age, featuring a flight simulator, a massive projection-mapped mural, an interactive XR travel experience, and a holographic exhibit aboard the Spirit of Delta, a historic 767. Themes of Resilience, Elevation, and Care are woven throughout, celebrating Delta’s people and impact over 100 years.
This ambitious transformation was made possible by the Delta Air Lines Foundation and the support of Delta employees and aviation fans worldwide.
